What you will need:
4 lb. Frying Chicken
1/2 c. Flour
2 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Celery Salt
1 tsp. Paprika
1/3 c. Shortening 
1/4 c. hot Water
1 small Onion, sliced

Cut chicken into serving pieces. Wash chicken and wipe dry. Mix flour, salt, celery salt, pepper and paprika. Sprinkle pieces of chicken with seasoned flour. Heat fryer on medium heat, and add shortening as needed. Put chicken in fryer and brown well. Add onion and water. Cover, lower heat and cook about 1 hour, or until tender. Makes 4 - 6 servings. For crisper chicken, cook uncovered during last minutes.
