TURKEY ON THE BBQ
you will need:
1 Turkey 12 lb.
1 tbsp. Butter or Margarine
1/2 c. Water
Rinse bird inside and out. Place breast side up in roasting pan. Do
NOT STUFF TURKEY YET! Lightly brush outside and cavity with butter or
margarine. Sprinkle seasonings on outside and in cavity. Add 1/2 cup
water to bottom of pan. Insert
meat thermometer into thigh, do not touch
a bone. Place pan on grill preheated to medium and close lid. After
20-30 minutes, lower heat to med-low and tent turkey with foil to prevent
over-browning. Baste every 15-20 minutes. For barbecues with temperature
settings, keep barbecue adjusted to 325 - 375F (160-190C). Add more
water to pan if it dries out during cooking.
